Discuss the bicultural nature of Aotearoa New Zealand by investigating Māori culture and language and what this means for early childhood education.

Discuss the multicultural nature of Aotearoa New Zealand with emphasis on Pasifika cultures and what this means for early childhood education.

Discuss issues that impact on diversity in Aotearoa New Zealand society today.

Identify and discuss the role of kaiako as an advocate for the care, protection and inclusion of tamariki and relevant agencies available for support.

Identify and describe relevant and inclusive strategies for working with diverse tamariki and their whānau in early childhood education.
